How to install windows xp on a sata hdd

How to Install Windows XP on SATA without a Floppy.

Hello,
The main big problem to start installing Windows XP on a new notebook is the SATA Hard Drive that comes with it has not built-in drivers, we have to add them via floppy, but in the most of cases, we won have a floppy able to mount into the laptop, so, what we do?

We have to integrated sata drivers into xp cd. Otherwise, our notebook could not recognize our hdd and we cant install xp.

What we need?

  1. 1pcs empty cd.
  2. Sata drivers. You can download it from here.(zip pass is "www.notebook.gen.tr")

    Note: If you will use windows xp 64 bit version you must download this. Sata drivers for windows xp 64bit.
  3. Microsoft .net framework. you can download it from here.
  4. A software which called Nlite. You can download nlite from here.

Please follow my instructions carefully.

  1. Download an unzip sata drivers a folder. (My folders name is sata drivers)nbsp;
  2. Create a folder somewhere on your hard drive to copy the windows source files into. I called mine XP_Source but you can use whatever name you prefer. Just make sure there is adequate space on your hard drive to hold the files.
  3. Copy the full content from the distribution cd into this folder
  4. Start nLite.
  5. Welcome screen shows you which version of nLite you are running and allows you to choose an alternate language.
    - To continue click on Next.

  6. We must now direct nLite to the folder which contains the windows installation files.
    To do this Click on Browse. And choose Xp_Source folder. Click next

  7. Click next without doing anythink.
  8. Chose driver and bootable ISO by mouse and click next.

  9. Click insert gt; single driver and choose iaachi.inf from you sata driver folder.

  10. Select all drivers with shift or ctrl button and click OK an Next.

  11. You will show a message "Do yo want to start the process". Click Yes and wait.
  12. Click next.
  13. Mode: Direct burn , Label: write your own label , Burn speed: Write slowly 10x is enough. Then click next and finish.

    hie im having the same problem with my acer extansa 4220 its new was loaded with linux.im trying to load winxp but it cant read teh hdd.i have an hp530 with the same problem but i just disable the sata connection in the bios setup and it went through installation.i was just wondering for the acer laptop if there is any thing we can do in the setup? reply me please

    Hello, i think you can do same thing on acer but you need new bios. But, i recommend yo do not something about bios. Please read this tutorial. it is 100 works.

    Thank you Erkan. Excellent manual. I have one question: I have Acer TravelMate 6592 with preinstalled Vista Bussiness on C partition. Additionaly, I manuallu installed XP Prof. on partition D (by following your manual), and as a consequence I got unpleasant situation that XP installation superseded existing boot files so now Acer sees only XP instalation. How to recover (or to set) dual-boot file(s) to get screen with two options offered? Thanks in advance

    I did all this, and the SATA driver appeared to load well, however instead of the xp install proceeding as normal, caldera dr-dos started and brought me to a prompt that just says: [DR-DOS] A:/> Ive tried starting windows through dos, and get a message saying setup is out of memory. Please help!

    hey i tried that a couple of times wasted a couple of dvds i got the drivers from acer and no soup for me. i stil have shitty old vista on it wasted the better part of a day on it to. HEEELLLLLPPPPPPPPPP

    I have done everything right. the only problem is that the sata drivers are not for XP x64 bit. During installation when the drivers are being installe an error message informs me about the wrong drivers. Where can I get the XP x64 sata drivers PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

    please help me up. i have acer aspire 5710G. i followed well the tutorial you provide to us and its sucessfully install win Xp to my laptop but still i have problem with sound , VGA, Blue tooh etc. they are not available to the drivers you provided to your tutorial. how can i solve or get these drivers?

    it works well I used this on my Acer Aspire 5710z and it works perfect (my acers bios was updated by producer so the feature that change the behavior of hdd -to act as ide sata or ahci was disabled and my hdd works only in ahci mode) thank you for helping us

    a message appears during initiallization in my laptop, it says "the file iastor.sys is corrupted". i downloaded your driver twice and burned it to cd twice and still the same message. what must i do?

    Dear jozef, i have two suggestion. 1. Please use different xp cd. it is real solution. 2. When you see this error, please put original cd in your notebook. After this step finish, remember to change again.

    Hi! i am using Acer Aspire T650 Machine ... and i have problem on that machine i buyed this Computer from Duabi ... and they install me Windows Xp Home Edition in that machine but now my windows is not working fine and i want to re-install the window but i face a problem .. when ever i run setup its show me a error ( Please Make Sure that any HDD is Connected with Computer ) " My Computer is USB 2.0 Built in 5 in 1 Card Reader ". if i see in the bios hard drive is connected but in setup of windows xp it shows me there is no hard drive connected with this computer can you please help me out to solve this problem?

    Why? Why? Why? Whyyyyy???? I still can do it! Ive done it the way mentioned above, but nothing. Ive even put every-every-every drive I found in ACER site, just to be sure, but nothing again.     Everything works ok finally. thanks for everything. It was Nothing wrong with the drivers. The version of my Wxp was too old. I did the same procedure with Wxp pro SP2 final edition and it worked perfectly. Bye Bye Vista!!!! Hope NOT to see you again for a looooong looooong time!!!!!!!!! My ACER is flying!!!!     Hi I tried this guide on an Asus x51r just like troiansoldier wrote about on date 2008-02-23 06:46:31 - but i can get it to work. When I press the F6 button to do a SATA install the system doesn find any drivers :-( Hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance.

    Hi! I bought acer 5320 without any OS,And here comes all the trouble,I can install Ubuntu normal but when I try to install Windows XP it says that I don have any hard disk drive in it.Can anyone give any suggestions?? greetings

    I Know this is a notebook web site but i had to ask. How the heck do i dual boot xp on my acer aspire m5620. I even installed a floppy drive. Ive tried everything. help. I got some drivers from intells web page made driver boot disc pressed f6 during xp boot and tried to use drivers when it said to hit s. but it kept asking for the disk in drive a . I tried drivers for 32bit and 64 bit versions. Help I hate vista and its not long till my pc gets the shotgun treatment. ahhhhhhhgh.

    hi erkan/all, I have a HP pavilion dv5-1199ev. I followed all steps carefully and XP seemed to be installed properly until the first restart. When the system tried to boot for the first time with XP I received the screen: ...Error loading operating system. Can anybody help? any ideas?
